Paradise Valley volunteers donate more than $100,000 worth of time in 2015

Bill Harrington and Larry Fink presented Paradise Valley Mayor Michael Collins with a check representing the value of volunteer time police department volunteers donated in 2015, during the Feb. 11 town council meeting. During 2015, Paradise Valley Police Department volunteers set a record number of hours worked collectively. These volunteers, under the leadership of Bill Harrington and Larry Fink and under the supervision of Kevin Albert, worked 4,395 hours. A full time employee works 2,080 hours per year. So, the volunteers donated the equivalent of two full time employees to the police department.

Paradise Valley seeks residents interested in volunteering

The Town of Paradise Valley is seeking residents interested in sharing their time and experience by serving on one of the town’s committees. There are currently vacancies on the Town’s Municipal Property Corporation, Personnel Appeals Board, and Public Safety Personnel Retirement Board, according to the town’s website, http://paradisevalleyaz.gov. Residents are encouraged apply. Every applicant will be considered, and those not selected will be kept on file to provide a pool of candidates to fill vacancies which may become available on other committees during the year, stated the website.
