Sagewood now collecting food donations for St. Mary’s

Sagewood, a life care services community featuring resort-like amenities and a comprehensive suite of health care services for senior living, is helping fight hunger this holiday season and is accepting donations of non-perishable food items for St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance. Through Nov. 13, Sagewood will collect non-perishable food items on behalf of St. Mary’s, the world’s first food bank, which alleviates hunger by efficiently gathering and distributing food to the hungry. The food donations through Sagewood will benefit hungry families across Arizona, according to a press release.

Diana Krall, St. Mary’s Food Bank team up for Friday concert

For Diana Krall fans, Friday Aug. 21, is an eventful night. The Multiple GRAMMY Award-winning jazz pianist and world renowned singer brings her Wallflower world tour to the Symphony Hall at 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 21, and those ticket holders that donate five canned goods and non-perishable items or $5 to St. Mary’s Food Bank are registered to win an upgrade to the front row. St. Mary’s Food Bank will be on hand to accept donations and make sure those patrons are in the running to upgrade their seats to the front row.

Annual Canstruction competition coming to Phoenix Aug. 8-22

The Arizona chapter of the Society for Marketing Professional Services is hosting the ninth annual Cansturction Design Build Competition, Aug. 8-22 in the west building of the Phoenix Convention Center. The event is free to attend and all proceeds benefit St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance. Canstruction is a charity competition to design and build structures made entirely from canned foods using a strict set of rules and no permanent adhesives. Five person teams comprised of architects, engineers, and contractors come together to design and build a 10 x 10 x 10 structure, according to a press release.

George Lopez partners with food bank for Phoenix show

For George Lopez fans, Saturday, July 18, will be an eventful night.

The actor-comedian-talk show host brings his latest stand-up tour to the historic Celebrity Theatre for two shows, 7:30 p.m. and 10 p.m., and those ticket holders that donate five canned goods/nonperishable items or $5 to St. Mary’s Food Bank are registered to win an upgrade to the front row.
