Phoenix Art Museum features ESPN’s Wilbon, Cubs’ Epstein at luncheon

Phoenix Art Museum will present the fourth-annual Luncheon of Champions at 11:30 a.m. on March 24, featuring a candid conversation between sports-journalist Mike Wilbon, host of ESPN’s Pardon the Interruption, and Theo Epstein, president of baseball operations for the 2016 World Series Champion Chicago Cubs. Bright Night benefit celebrates art, culture, creativity

The Phoenix Art Museum presents Bright Night, an evening among art enthusiasts featuring live musical performance and a private glimpse at the works of internationally-acclaimed artist Kehinde Wiley, all in benefit of exhibition and education programming at the museum. Film featuring Paradise Valley resident to preview at Phoenix Art Museum

Paradise Valley resident Beth Ames Swartz is to be featured in a new half-hour documentary-style film produced by Odyssey Film. The film, Beth Ames Swartz/Reminders of Invisible Light, will preview at the Phoenix Art Museum at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 3. A dessert reception will follow in the Great Hall to celebrate Ms. Swartz’s 80th birthday. In the film, Ms. Swartz shares her courageous journey to overcome life challenges and create order in her life through art-making to recognize the sacredness of life and achieve a life filled with purpose, according to a press release.

Phoenix Art Museum, Discount Tire present free family Sundays

Beginning in 2016, Phoenix Art Museum will present monthly Discount Tire Free Family Sundays on the second Sunday of each month. Due to a generous grant provided by Discount Tire Company, a tire and wheel retailer headquartered in Scottsdale, Phoenix Art Museum will open on the second Sunday of each month, free to all visitors. The Discount Tire Free Family Sundays will also include a variety of special hands-on, educational programming designed to appeal to visitors of all ages. The first Free Family Sunday will be held on Jan. 9, 2016, from 12 p.m. to 5 pm.

Photobid auction and exhibit returns to Phoenix Art Museum

INFOCUS, the photography support organization of Phoenix Art Museum, invites the public to its seventh annual PhotoBid auction and exhibition. The auction will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 13, 2015 at Phoenix Art Museum. In the three weeks preceding, the works will be up as an exhibition at Phoenix Art Museum for bidders and the public to view. After a very successful year that saw INFOCUS – together with its members, sponsors and supporters – entirely fund a juried exhibition of self-published photobooks, present the first-ever Zuber Photography Award to an early-career artist and underwrite four excellent exhibition brochures, the organization is looking forward to its primary annual fundraising event.
