The Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce recently announced eight new leaders for its board of directors during an annual luncheon on June 7 at the Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak Resort. According to a press release, Michael McCann, JPMorgan Chase Arizona market executive, will serve as 2017-18 board chairman, succeeding Daniel Froetscher of APS, who will serve as immediate past chair. Phyllis Senseman, vice president of marketing & communications for CopperPoint Insurance Companies, will serve as chair-elect.

The Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce announces new leaders and 17 new members to its board of directors. Daniel Froetscher, senior vice president of transmission, distribution and customers at APS, will serve as the 2016-17 board chair, succeeding Ken McMahon of CenturyLink. Mike McCann, senior vice president and division manager at JP Morgan Chase, has been named chair-elect, according to a press release.

The Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce seeks nominations for its 2016 Impact Awards, which honor the accomplishments of outstanding Valley businesses and the positive impact they’ve made on the Greater Phoenix business community. Nominations—which can come from anyone in the community—are open from now until Jan. 8, 2016, and can be submitted through the Chamber’s website at www.phoenixchamber.com/impact. Two businesses, one with fewer than 250 employees and one with 250 or more employees, will be honored in each of the four categories: Community Champion, Economic Driver, Entrepreneurial Excellence and Response to Adversity.

3 Phoenix businesswomen receive 2015 Athena award

The Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce announced the 2015 Athena Public Sector, Private Sector and Young Professional Award recipients at its 28th Annual Athena Awards Luncheon Oct. 29 at the Arizona Biltmore, A Waldorf Astoria Resort. Melissa Sanderson, vice president of international affairs for Freeport-McMoRan Inc., was awarded the 2015 Athena Businesswoman of the Year Award in the private sector; Leah Fregulia, CEO of the Arizona School for the Arts earned the 2015 Athena Businesswoman of the Year Award in the public sector; and Ashley Kasarjian, counsel at Snell & Wilmer LLP took home the 2015 Athena Young Professional Award.

Economists optimistic Arizona economy will continue to grow

That was just one of the positive signs that emerged from Economic Outlook 2016, presented by the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce and Cox Communications.
