All Saints’ students lemonade stand to benefit food bank

At the end of April, the youngest members of the All Saints’ Episcopal Day School community, pre-kindergartenders, teamed up to hold a lemonade stand. The cost of a glass of lemonade was one can of food that was donated to St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance.

All Saints’ students welcome president of Islamic Speakers Bureau

As part of their religious studies, The All Saints’ Episcopal Day School kindergarten students welcomed Azra Hussain, president of the Islamic Speakers Bureau of Arizona to campus. Ms. Hussain spoke to the kindergarten religion classes about Islam. The age-appropriate session was met with many questions as the children learned about how Muslims pray, the Qur’an, the Muslim holidays, and much more, according to a press release.

All Saints’ students celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with special performance

As part of Hispanic Heritage Month, the All Saints’ Episcopal Day School committee for inclusion and multicultural education welcomed Axé Capoeira Arizona to campus on Friday, Sept. 18. Students in both the lower and middle schools had the opportunity to attend this special presentation, according to a press release. Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian art form that combines elements of martial arts, music, and dance. Axé Capoeira of Arizona is well-known for sharing the cultural richness of capoeira, and sharing a positive message of respect, diversity, and community, stated the release.

All Saints student to represent USA at sport climbing championships

All Saints’ Episcopal Day School senior, Clay Gordon, competed in the 2015 Sport Climbing Series Youth National Championships held July 9-12, in Kennesaw, Ga. Gordon placed first in the Sport category qualifying him to represent the USA at the Youth World Sport Climbing Championships in Arco, Italy the first week in September, according to a press release. He competed against youth from across the country, stated the release. Gordon is the first youth climber from Arizona to ever be named National Champion in Sport Climbing.

Phoenix All Saints adds new head of lower school

All Saints’ Episcopal Day School has added Andrew Cipriano as the new Head of Lower School. He joins the central Phoenix private independent school with more than a decade of elementary education experience, according to a July 22 press release. Mr. Cipriano began his career as an elementary school teacher in the Granite School District in Utah, where he worked on initiatives related to elementary mathematics curriculum mapping and the implementation of positive behavioral support systems for K-6 students.
