One Paradise Valley home fell victim to a home burglary due to an unsecured door, according to police officials.

Around 5:25 p.m. on Aug. 6, the Paradise Valley Police Department responded to a burglary alarm call for service in the 3900 block of E. Solano Drive.

Upon arrival, officers determined that there was an unsecured door and it appeared an unknown person had entered the home and possibly removed an unknown quantity of items, police stated.

The homeowner is in the process of determining if any property was taken.

The Paradise Valley Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit will be following up on this crime. Locking doors can prevent a burglar from gaining entry to a home, the police said.

Additionally, using alarms usually reduces the amount of time burglars are inside the house, and the amount of property they have time to steal.

Anyone with information on this incident are urged to call the police department at 480-948-7410.
