Opinion: Mega-resort will only bring more challenges to TPV

The Ritz-Carlton will bring more traffic, traffic noise, construction machinery, asphalt, maintenance crews and machines, HVAC noise and heat, dust, accidents, crime, traffic lights, strangers and transients into our community.

The Ritz will require more water company water and more sewer capacity.

It will occasion more commercial construction near Scottsdale Road and Lincoln to service the new enterprise.

We already have two top-of-the -line resorts in the center of our town and a couple more high-end resorts whose managers would argue are also top of the line.

Do we need another — to generate the tax revenue which our town will need to pay for the problems that this new resort will generate?

I already have my choice of lovely resorts within easy biking distance. I don’t need another and I don’t need the problems which this new, mega-resort will necessarily generate.
