Town officials announce passing of first female mayor Joan Lincoln

The official Town of Paradise Valley Twitter account announced on March 7 that former Town of Paradise Valley Mayor Joan Lincoln has passed away.

Mayor Lincoln was the first female mayor in Paradise Valley, according to the Arizona Historical Society Museum website, https://www.historicalleague.org.

“Joan served for a decade on the Town Council of Paradise Valley; first as councilmember and then as the first female mayor,” the website stated. “She is an accomplished writer and artist, and was selected to design the fountains at the entrance to the Paradise Valley Town Hall.”

In addition, Town Councilwoman Maria Syms tweeted her respects to the late Mayor Lincoln.
