Sagewood now collecting food donations for St. Mary’s

Sagewood, a life care services community featuring resort-like amenities and a comprehensive suite of health care services for senior living, is helping fight hunger this holiday season and is accepting donations of non-perishable food items for St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance.

Through Nov. 13, Sagewood will collect non-perishable food items on behalf of St. Mary’s, the world’s first food bank, which alleviates hunger by efficiently gathering and distributing food to the hungry.

The food donations through Sagewood will benefit hungry families across Arizona, according to a press release.

Sagewood will accept non-perishable food items including, but not limited to, peanut butter, tuna, chunky soups and stews, canned vegetables and fruit, fruit juice (plastic only), rice and pasta.

The public may drop off food items to Sagewood’s marketing office lobby at 4455 E. Mayo Blvd. in Phoenix.

For questions about food donations, contact Heather McAnerney in Sagewood’s marketing department at 480-948-1398.

Sagewood has collected hundreds pounds of food for the program. Each year, Sagewood also delivers needed turkeys for the Thanksgiving holiday to the food bank along with the canned food donation, the release stated.
