The city of Phoenix Street Transportation Department plans to close 32nd Street, directly north of Stanford Drive, for approximately two weeks starting Saturday, Aug. 27.

This closure will be required to repair the bridge located over the canal at 32nd Street near Stanford Drive, according to a press release.

During this closure traffic will be restricted as follows:

  • Traffic on northbound 32nd Street will be restricted from continuing north of Stanford Drive.
  • Traffic on southbound 32nd Street will be restricted from continuing south of Stanford Drive.
  • Traffic on westbound Stanford Drive will be restricted from making a right turn at 32nd Street.

Slow traffic conditions are anticipated near and around this closure.

Commuters are advised to avoid this closure and to seek an alternate route to avoid delays.

The schedule for this street closure is subject to change based upon prevailing or unexpected conditions, the release stated.
