Police investigating Paradise Valley death

At approximately 3:30 p.m. on Monday, July 20, the Paradise Valley Police Department was called to 5700 E. McDonald to investigate a death.

According to a press release provided by the police department, the responding officers were directed to a location where they found a deceased individual.

According to the release, at that time the Criminal Investigations Unit was called to the scene. The Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s Office had also been notified and was not yet present at the time of the press release.

Police stated in the release that early indications show the death may have been a suicide, however they are treating the scene as a crime scene until the cause of death is confirmed. Police also stated there are are not looking for any suspects outside of the contained scene at this time.

Paradise Valley police have not released any other information and are awaiting confirmation of the identity of the decedent and notifying the next of kin, the release states.
