Paradise Valley police officers caught a residential burglar, who was arrested on unrelated Phoenix charges, on the morning of July 14.

Around 6:31 a.m. the Paradise Valley police responded to the area of 6100 N. 38th Street in reference to a criminal trespass.

The subject, unknown to the homeowner, was in their backyard opening a storage shed, according to police.

Upon arrival, police located and detained a male subject who was later identified as Richard Sosa.

The homeowners were very pleased with the fast response and outcome, but did not wish to aid in prosecution, said police.

The subject was arrested on unrelated Phoenix warrants and was turned over to the custody of Phoenix police.

Police urge residents to report any suspicious activity or other crimes to the police department crime stopper at 480-948-7410.
