Delight Dad on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 19, with a day at the Musical Instrument Museum in north Phoenix.

Spend the day exploring the galleries, learning drumming basics, and enjoying lunch and drink specials at Café Allegro.

Register the whole family for a special drumming workshop led by master instructor Frank Thompson. Learn the basics of African, Latin, and pop-music hand drumming and make music and rhythm together. After basic instruction, the session will end with a jam session.

All levels of experience are welcome and participants can bring their own drum or use one of the museums, according to a press release. Workshops will be offered at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. and the cost to participate is $12 each. Museum admission may be purchased separately.

While at MIM, treat Dad to lunch at Café Allegro, which will feature a Father’s Day menu from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., as well as a selection of specially priced Arizona beers, the release stated.
