Kathleen Taddie and Patricia Garrity opened the doors of Ms. Taddie’s Paradise Valley home to friends and family for their Heels Happy Hour on Thursday, Aug. 11 to support Florence Crittenton and its eighth annual Heels for Healing event.

Ms. Taddie and Ms. Garrity, current Development Committee members and longtime supporters of Florence Crittenton, decided to host the party to help the agency receive more designer heels and handbag donations to be sold at its annual event.

Heels for Healing is a one-day shopping event taking place at Flo’s on 7th in Phoenix on Saturday, Sept. 24, where shoppers can find designer heels and handbags for a fraction of the price with all proceeds benefitting Florence Crittenton’s programs and services, according to a press release.

Kathleen and Patricia - Heels PartyThe Heels Happy Hour treated Ms. Taddie and Ms. Garrity’s guests to light hors d’oeuvres and an assortment of wine and other beverages.

Because of Ms. Taddie and Ms. Garrity’s donation drive, Florence Crittenton received a van full of new and gently-used items to sell at its annual event, including a new Kate Spade tote from this season and a new limited edition Brighton purse.

Florence Crittenton is the second-oldest social service agency in the state of Arizona offering safe housing, counseling, education and independent living skills for at-risk girls in the community.

For 120 years, the agency has served girls, young women and their families with a comprehensive continuum of care to help girls ages 10 to 21 break the cycle of abuse, neglect, homelessness, teen pregnancy and behavioral health problems.
