Xavier to present Broadway musical “Mary Poppins”

The Xavier College Preparatoy drama department is pleased to announce that Xavier-Brophy Theatre will present four performances of Mary Poppins, the hit Broadway musical, this fall.

Based upon author P.L. Travers’ book series as well as the 1964 Disney film, Mary Poppins is the story of the beloved nanny who introduces the Banks children to many magical, memorable, and musical adventures, according to a press releaes.

Performance dates will be Wednesday, Oct. 14, Thursday, Oct. 15, and Saturday, Oct. 17, at 7 p.m. – and a matinee performance on Saturday, Oct. 17 at 2 p.m., stated the release.

All performances will be held in the Kemper and Ethel Marley Theater in the Virginia G. Piper Performing Arts Center on Xavier’s campus.

The ticket price will be $10 for all patrons and may be purchased online at www.xcp.org or at the door.  There will be general seating only for all performances, according to the release.
