The Herberger Theater Center, Center Dance Ensemble seek talent

The Herberger Theater is accepting registrations for the 17th Annual Arizona Young Artists’ Competition on Saturday, April 2.

This scholarship competition showcases the diverse talent of young Arizona artists ages 15-19, and introduces them to the audition process. Applicants may enter in one or more of the three disciplines – acting, dance and voice. The winner of each will receive a $1,000 scholarship to help further their education in the arts, according to a press release.

Arizona Broadway Theatre is partnering with HTC to sponsor an additional $1,500 scholarship to be awarded to one participant. The winner will be chosen by a panel of ABT judges and offered an opportunity to perform with the ABT professional cast in a Main Stage production.

Since its inception, the Arizona Young Artists’ Competition has placed the spotlight on the acting, dance and vocal achievements of more than 1,500 Arizona students and awarded nearly $65,000 in scholarship monies.
