The newly formed intramural volleyball team at Paradise Valley’s Tesseract School is off to a great start with a 5-0 record.

This year, Tesseract PE teacher Cady Majarah started a volleyball team for second-fifth grades, according to a press release. Normally in the fall, volleyball is offered to the middle school students at Tesseract.

In an effort to get more students involved in participating in team sports, Coach Cady helped create a volleyball team for the lower school. Students have been practicing twice a week after school and plays its games on Saturdays.

On March 5, the team was able to win all three matches they competed in. The Tigers were able to put together some volleys and returned several serves to help win each game, the release stated. There is one more game before the playoffs.

“Coach Cady has taken a team of second, third and fifth graders and brought out the best in them,” stated parent John Springfield in the release. “The team is improving every week and coming together as a sold unit. It is heartwarming to see the fifth graders compete side-by-side with their youngest teammates.”
