Xavier summer camps invite elementary students to deepen knowledge

Xavier College Preparatory will offer two academic summer camps to elementary students that will range in focus from ancient Greek history and mythology to art techniques to programming and circuitry.

Summer Xploration 2016 will explore a unique blend of history, mythology, geography, and art, and is open to all students (girls and boys) entering the seventh and eighth grades in the fall. It will be held from 8 a.m.-12 p.m. Monday-Friday, June 6 through June 29, on Xavier’s campus.

Girls Have “IT” Camp will engage middle school students (girls only) in programming, circuits, wearable technology, and engineering through a “near peer” model where Xavier students mentor the younger students as they work on their various technology projects.

There will be three sessions: June 6-9; June 20-23; and June 27-30 — all from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Xavier College Prep campus is at 4710 N. 5th St. in Phoenix.

To register for either camp or for additional information, visit www.xcp.org or contact Mrs. Wyman at cwyman@xcp.org.
