The Xavier Lacrosse team.

Three Xavier College Preparatory students were selected to the 2015 All-State Lacrosse Team, and the school’s program was honored with this year’s “Honor The Game” award by the Arizona Girls Lacrosse Association.

Senior Areta Buness was named Midfielder of the Year and All-State 1st Team member and senior Kate Hall and sophomore Katie Hobaica were named to the All-State Honorable Mention Team, according to a press release.

Xavier’s lacrosse program received the “Honor the Game” award for pioneering the student statistician program, according to the release, modeling the appropriate “extension of the referees” behavior at the scorer’s table during the games, and exemplifying sportsmanship on the field and during pre-game activities at both home and away games.
