Xavier College Preparatory’s golf team captured its sixth consecutive state title on Thursday, Nov. 3, amidst wind, lightning, and rain at the Aguila Golf Course in Laveen.

In tournament play that was halted twice due to inclement weather and ultimately declared an 18-hole event, Xavier’s Gators defeated Chandler Hamilton to win the state championship, according to a press release.

The victory was Xavier’s 34th state title in school history.

Xavier senior Elizabeth Caldarelli, Xavier freshwoman Ashley Menne, and Hamilton senior Hannah Li all shared individual medalist honors.
