PVSchools, UPC partner to host gifted education seminars

The Paradise Valley Unified School District’s Gifted Education department and the United Parent Council are to host several Gifted Education Parent Seminars for the 2015-16 school year.

The first seminar in the series is Gifted Testing: Learning Your Options and Understanding the Results from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 5 in the Ivory Room at the Community Resource Center, 15032 N. 32nd St.

During the seminar, parents will learn the nuts and bolts of gifted testing, identification and interpretation of test results, according to a press release. Dr. Dina Brulles, director of Gifted Education, will discuss testing options for children and will explain how gifted testing is administered in PVSchools and externally.

Dr. Brulles will also address testing approaches and help parents know what to look for when parents seek testing from an outside evaluator.
