Girl Scouts host Toys for Tots drive at Cherokee Elementary

The Cherokee Girl Scouts will be collecting new unwrapped toys and cash donations Dec. 5-9, for the United States Marine Corps Reserve Unit Toys for Tots program.

The donation will take place at the Cherokee car line from 8:15 to 8:45 a.m. each morning of the drive.

The primary goal of Toys for Tots is to deliver, through a new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters that will assist them in becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens, according to a press release.

On Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 5 and 6, U.S. Marines are to be on the campus along with the Girl Scouts.

Cherokee Elementary School is located 8801 N. 56th St. in Paradise Valley.
