His new position at Saint Ignatius begins July 1.

“Father Reese has led Brophy, in collaboration with its students, faculty, administration and entire Brophy community to become a nationally recognized Jesuit high school,” said John Strittmatter, chairman of the Brophy Board of Trustees.

“We will miss him greatly. However, we are happy that our sister school in San Francisco can benefit from his proven success as a leader, visionary and change agent.”

Father Reese has been president at Brophy since 1996. His many accomplishments include raising over $85 million in philanthropic funds, doubling the campus footprint, bringing technology to the campus making Brophy the first high school in Arizona with one-to-one computing, developing highly competitive faculty salaries and benefits and quadrupling the student financial aid budget.

His proudest achievement is the establishment of the Loyola Academy in 2010, providing sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade male scholars with a tuition-free education at Brophy.

The Board of Trustees has appointed Brophy Vice President Adria Renke acting president beginning June 2016 while a national search is conducted.

Ms. Renke has been vice president at Brophy for the past 19 years and a critical part of Brophy’s success. Currently she is a board member of the Jesuit School of Theology at Santa Clara University and a past board member of the National Jesuit Secondary Education Association.

In 2015 she was a Who’s Who in Business awardee by both the Phoenix Business Journal and Arizona Republic.

“The board has full faith in Ms. Renke, in collaboration with Principal Bob Ryan and the school’s strong administrative team, to lead the school beginning this summer as we conduct a national search for Father Reese’s replacement. Her many years of experience working side-by-side with Father Reese will provide a seamless transition,” said Mr. Strittmatter.

Brophy is an all-male college preparatory high school founded in 1928 by benefactress, Mrs. William Henry Brophy and the Jesuits.
