The Brophy College Preparatory Broncos took to Aguila Golf Course for the annual Aguila Open hosted by Horizon High School, finishing in first place after a two day game.

The team got off to a great start on day one and kept it going for the full 18 holes, finishing the first day with a team total of 10 under par, 8 shots ahead of second place, Thunderbird, according to a press release.

The team had a lot of confidence going into the second day and got off to a hot start as they began to pull away from the field.  Midway through the round the Broncos gave a few shots back, but were able to hold it together and finish day two with a team total of 3 under par, 10 shots clear of second place, Chaparral, the release stated.

The team finished the 36 hole, 30 team event in first place with a two-day team total of 13 under par, the team’s lowest score to par in recent history, the release stated.

Congrats to senior Michael Feagles for his t-1 finish as an individual finishing with a 2-day total of 7 under par, winning medalist honors in a three-hole playoff.  Three Broncos finished in the top 15 of the 150 person field:  Chip Getz t-3 at 5 under, Jack Sanford 10th at 1 under and Tim Heslin t-11 at even par, the release stated.
