Three athletes at Xavier College Preparatory have recently captured individual State Championship titles.

Junior Sarah Carter captured the Division 1 state cross country championship title on Saturday, becoming the 10th runner in the school’s history to win an individual state title, according to a press release.

Xavier’s team placed second, winning state runners-up honors.

Senior Allie Worrall captured the Division 1 state swimming championship title in the 100-yard freestyle at the Skyline Aquatic Center in Mesa.

She also placed second in the 50-yard freestyle and, along with senior Elise Roediger, junior Jocelyn Jones, and sophomore Kaitlyn McCoy, second in the 200-yard medley relay.

Xavier’s swim team placed fourth overall.

In addition, senior Alisa Snyder captured the Division 1 individual state golf title as Xavier’s team won its fifth consecutive state championship and its 33rd in school history.

She was the 27th Xavier golfer since 1979 to win an individual state title, the release stated.
