Fresh Start Women’s Foundation was recently awarded a gold participation level by GuideStar, a neutral organization that collects, organizes and presents non-profit impact, reputation and financial information to donors and supporters, foundations and other community stakeholders.

“We are honored to receive GuideStar’s gold participation level,” stated Joan Brubacher, executive board chair of Fresh Start in a press release. “It reflects Fresh Start’s accountability to our donors, to our clients and to the whole community, all of which are very important to us.”

The news comes at a time in which Fresh Start is also enjoying a coveted four-star rating by Charity Navigator, America’s largest and most-utilized independent evaluator of charities. The rating signifies good governance, sound fiscal management and commitment to accountability and transparency, according to the release.

“Financial accountability and transparency is of significant importance to Fresh Start. This rating underscores our commitment to both and we invite the community to see our programs and services in action, too,” stated Susan Berman, CEO of Fresh Start, in the release.
