Abrazo Scottsdale campus staff and community members collected more than 3,000 bottles of water and about 130 flip flops to benefit homeless families during the hospital’s annual water bottle drive.

Firefighters from Phoenix Fire Department’s Station 35 will assist in loading the donations onto their engine truck and deliver them to UMOM New Day Centers, a shelter for homeless families in Phoenix, the largest shelter for homeless families in Arizona, according to a press release.

“Dehydration is a major concern during the summer months. We collected water as a way to help keep people cool and hydrated as well as build awareness surrounding dehydration prevention. Also, having adequate footwear for our hot Arizona summer days is a must,” said Ricky Russell, Abrazo Scottsdale Campus Chief Human Resources Officer, said in the release.

Abrazo Scottsdale is located at 3929 E. Bell Road in Phoenix.
