Ballet Arizona’s Dance with Me Gala Kick-Off was held on Wednesday, Oct. 14, at the home of Jacquie and Bennett Dorrance. Three-hundred guests enjoyed a French inspired buffet dinner and helped raise over $100,000 towards the Dance with Me Gala which will be held on Jan. 22, at Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts, according to a press release. Guests also participated by purchasing raffle tickets for a chance to win a one-of-a-kind 16-plus carat Sévigné Slipper Diamond Brooch valued at $50,000, which was generously donated by Al Molina of Molina Fine Jewelers.

VYTal Affair 2015, Valley Youth Theatre’s annual fundraising event that took place at The Herberger Theater Center on Saturday, Aug. 22, has proven to be a tremendous success – raising more than $175,000 for the local non-profit youth theatre. More than 300 people came out to support VYT’s 2015 premier fundraising event, according to a press release. Yetta Gibson of CBS 5 Morning News was the MC of the evening which included: cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, silent and live auctions, musical performances by stars of VYT, star volunteer recognition, a stirring salute to the theatre from several of its alumni and the VYTality Awards presentation.
Scottsdale-chartered Grand Canyon Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution has engaged in civic activities throughout the state to bring focus to the society’s “Celebrate America!” initiative. Chapter DAR Service for Veterans Committee Co-chairman Tracy Justinak attended Sky Harbor Airport welcome-home festivities for Arizona World War II veterans returning from three-day visits to Washington, D.C. as guests of Honor Flight Arizona. Her most recent involvement was at the May 28 event. Honor Flight Arizona works year-round to plan and conduct eight to 10 trips to national memorials at no cost to veterans.
