If timing is everything and I believe it is, then seizing the opportunity is equally critical. With a resort project as important to our town as the Ritz, I would suggest that opportunity is now.
And, with both our town officials and Five Star Development having worked diligently toward mutual agreement, it would seem that now is the time to move forward.
Let’s remember the Ritz project is a designated resort property comprised of over 100 acres. And, like Mountains Shadows and the Camelback Inn preceding it, not to mention Montelucia, residential resort components are nothing new. Nor is residential resort product on less than 1 acre anything new.
We can expect greater density within resort developments with clear historic precedent already demonstrated. In short, there is nothing new conceptually.
Let’s agree that time marches on with due diligence, effort and investment already achieved over many months. Together our town and Five Star Development are committed to a premier resort to reflect our longstanding premiere reputation: A resort to be enjoyed by tourists and townsfolk alike.
And for those skeptical about a patch of desert being developed, consider this gateway resort an aesthetic landmark to enhance our property values, generate vast revenues to support our town services and one in which we can all take pride.
The timing is right, the opportunity now to move forward. Let’s celebrate our newest resort, a resort of incomparable luxury: a new gold standard to be envied around the globe — right here in our own hometown.
