Town Manager Kevin Burke has hired Dawn Marie Buckland to fill the Town of Paradise Valley’s Director of Administration and Government Affairs position.
The position oversees the town’s budget, finance and information technology functions and will coordinate legislative activities, contact with other local governmental entities and lead special initiatives.
Announcing the new hire, Town Manager Kevin Burke said, “Ms. Buckland set herself apart as the best candidate for the job. We are extremely fortunate to have hired someone of her caliber. She brings an amazing mix of experience in a diversity of fields which is critical for success in a lean organization like PV where employees wear many hats.”
Ms. Buckland’s starting date with the town is Monday, June 8.
Ms. Buckland has 22 years of governmental experience in budget and finance, information technology, parks and recreation, engineering and developmental services and with intergovernmental relations and strategic partnerships.
She most recently held the position of Director of the Office of Management and Budget for the Town of Gilbert. Prior to that she was Budget Manager for the City of Chandler and Senior Budget Analyst for the City of Peoria.
Before her career in municipal government, she served in the United States Air Force for 10 years.
She has a B.S. in Business/Information Technology from the University of Phoenix and a Master of Administration in Public Management from Northern Arizona University.
