W.J. Maloney Plumbing has been selected as the first-ever “Reeves Journal” Western Contractor of the Year and will be featured in the publication’s September issue.
“Reeves Journal” is the oldest publication in the plumbing industry, founded in 1920, according to a press release. The monthly publication serves the Western United States’ plumbing, heating and cooling industry by delivering information that is topical, timely and relevant to its readers.
Jack Sweet, “Reeves Journal’s” editor, said W.J. Maloney Plumbing was selected for this honor based on a combination of its extensive high-profile commercial projects around Phoenix, its long-tenured residential plumbing business (since 1964) and the leadership’s can-do philosophy.
“The W.J. Maloney commercial projects list reads like a city directory, with everything from municipal facilities, colleges and high schools, hospitals, restaurants and sports facilities represented,” Mr. Sweet stated in the release.
Kathryn “Kitty” Maloney-Langmade, president of W.J. Maloney Plumbing, said the company is truly honored.
“My team and I were elated when we heard the news that we were chosen as the first-ever Western Contractor of the Year,” stated Ms. Maloney-Langmade. “Everyone here cares so much about their work. It’s a tremendous honor to have their hard work recognized.”
Since 1964, W.J. Maloney Plumbing has been a leading plumbing contractor in the greater metropolitan Phoenix area. Working with many of the largest general contractors, the company has provided exemplary design build plumbing, from tenant improvement to complex multi-story projects that include many of the most prominent buildings throughout the state.
Some of W.J. Maloney Plumbing’s public projects include Component I of the $590 million renovation of Terminal 3 and the PHX Sky Train Project at Sky Harbor International Airport, Sloan Park, the spring training home of the Chicago Cubs in Mesa, the Surprise Spring Training Complex, a major solar thermal project at the University of Arizona in Tucson, the Mariposa Land Port of Entry expansion near Nogales and numerous schools throughout the Valley, the release stated.
